Abstract
In this paper, the incorporation of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is discussed. 2 × 2 MIMO-UWB measurement campaign in the 3-10 GHz bandwidth is conducted and the transmission performance in Line Of Sight (LOS) environment is evaluated. The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of antenna element configuration on MIMO-UWB system working in underground mine environment. To achieve this, many parameters such as the channel correlation, and the system capacity are analyzed. The obtained results suggest that MIMO-UWB systems are promising for high data rate transmission in harsh RF environments.
