  • Abstract
    In the previous research works on wireless data broadcast, time-division-multiplex (TDM) based data-item scheduling has been exclusively studied, while no mention or clear evidence against frequency-division-multiplex (FDM) based data-item scheduling has been offered. This paper is one of the first studies concerning the performance of FDM-based data-item scheduling in wireless broadcast systems. In particular, in this paper it is shown that for any given FDM-based data-item schedule there exists a TDM-based data-item schedule that results in a better overall WDB system performance. Accordingly, it is demonstrated that the disregard of FDM-based scheduling by the earlier works on WDB is ultimately justifiable.
