  • Abstract
I will present the recently developed methods for focal field control using spatially variant polarization engineering. It is shown that the creation of optimal focal spot with arbitrary three-dimensional state of polarization is possible. Their applications in nearfield nanoscale imaging, metrology and nanoparticle manipulation will be discussed.
