Abstract :
A non reciprocal phase shifter using an electromagnetic surface wave (OSEL) in a ferrite strip line is presented. The characteristic equation of a strip line using a composite medium (ferrite - dielectric or ferrite - ferrite) is established for the forward and reverse TE modes. Three patterns of phase shifters have been investigated : the ferrite - air, the ferrite - dielectric and the ferrite - ferrite. By using the numerical results of this theoretical analysis, the main parameters of the structure (geometrical and electrical characteristics) have been optimized for each pattern.
