Abstract
Brief introduction on the research and development of a multi-purpose USSWASH (Unmanned Submersible Small Waterplane Area Single Hull ship with hydrofoil) is presented in this paper. The USSWASH hull form design with the hydrodynamics calculation and optimization process is discussed. The motion control system design and evaluation including control strategy and trial data is provided. The typical submerge emerge sailing functions of USSWASH is carried out by using this motion control system.
