Abstract
The combination of spatial diversity and signal space diversity is supposed to provide significant performance boost in communication systems. In this paper, a multi-user cooperation scheme is proposed in order to further exploit the potential of the two kinds of diversity methods. Utilizing constellation expansion and component de-mapping, the proposed system not only helps the destination receiver in combating fading channels, but also enables more users participate in the cooperation flexibly. Moreover, a comparative study between the proposed multi-dimensional scheme and lower order signal space cooperation indicates that an over 4 dB performance gain is achieved.
