Abstract :
A model of drying is obtained by solving the three differential equations of heat, mass transfer and waves. It shows that the electromagnetic waves can act as a "water pump" increasing the migration of water and so increasing the efficiency of air. A new criterium is given for computing the electromagnetic energy profile when the temperature and moisture of air are known. This criterium, which is in fact a criterium of material quality is to keep the moisture as constant as possible. At last, a simple way of computing large dryers is explained and the influence of the main parameters involved in an L S E expansion is given.
