Abstract
For power system applications, Rogowski coil output voltage will be sent to both relays and measuring equipments. The former requires adequate bandwidth and the latter needs adequate sensitivity. However, one could not arbitrarily increase the winding density to increase the sensitivity since the bandwidth would be decreased. In order to settle the conflict between sensitivity and bandwidth, we proposed a method to improve the performance of the coil by integrating several single-layer coils into a whole. Practical results showing the improvement are presented.
