Abstract :
A prototype Sezawa Wave MZOS convolver has been developed which clearly demonstrates the impressive signal processing capability of monolithic MZOS parametric devices. Observed values of electro-mechanical coupling and time-bandwidth product represent a significant improvement over those obtained from conventional devices operated on the Rayleigh mode. Our prototype device displays a 3 dB bandwidth of 30 MHz at an input frequency of 225 MHz with a terminal bilinear efficiency of ¿57 dBm. The observed transducer electro-mechanical coupling (¿v/v) is 0.019. Device performance as a surface state memory correlator is also described. Design considerations for convolvers and correlators possessing time-bandwidth products of 1000 or more are presented.
