  • Abstract
    The convergence of Web Services and IMS-based telecommunication capabilities has become the trend of international communication industry; the product of this integration is called WIMS (Web IMS). All the IMS capabilities have been packaged into Web APIs through WIMS; using these APIs, Web application developers don´t have to be familiar with any complicated signaling or protocols on telecommunication level to develop an application, which can improve efficiency greatly. However, a failing design of APIs will be confusing, dysfunctional and difficult to use; this paper proposes that IMS capabilities should be exposed towards Web Services through open Web APIs following a RESTful (Representational State Transfer) approach.
