Abstract :
The 21st century has already witnessed remarkable achievements in every area of science and technology. By taking full advantage of new information technologies, the scientific community has an unprecedented opportunity to close the vast `Knowledge Gap´among all people. While radio has played a major role in the welfare of rural community in the yesteryears, followed by television, it is the internet cafe that has taken over other communication system in the recent past, even in villages. Now the Internet technology has been developed to such an extend that it offers widespread availability and relative ease of use, both at a most economic and affordable cost. Video conferencing is one such technology which offers effective two-way communication to provide information on agriculture, education, employment, legal assistance etc., for the rural welfare. Thus the ultimate goal of ¿Reaching the Unreached¿ is made possible by video conferencing.
