Abstract :
The aim of this article is the experimental verification of a procedure for modeling magnetic components using finite element analysis (FEA). In this procedure the core saturation effect is taken into account and is designed for use in a commercial circuit simulator. The verification was carried out for a core ferrite, which is used in power electronics. It was specifically applied to a ring-shape ferrite core. Two frequencies were used: 50 Hz (quasi-static) and 20 kHz (typical working frequency). The comparison between experimental and simulated results validates the procedure.
