  • Abstract
With the development of information technology and the popularity of the Internet, museums have been able to make major advances in providing virtual reality experiences and multimedia Internet displays to viewers. The National Palace Museum is home to more than 650000 masterpieces of Chinese art and culture, many of which were collected by the imperial house over the dynasties. Since this collection reflects the culmination of Chinese art and crafts, the National Palace Museum has adopted the highest of standards and technology to create its website and multimedia systems, constructing a beautiful and informative world of virtual reality. The National Palace Museum is constantly creating and updating systems incorporating its digital archives, digital museum, world wide websites, and multimedia displays to allow more people to appreciate and understand these treasures of Chinese art
