Abstract
In the present study, we developed a fault protection device that would trigger during homopolar arcs to add to a short-circuit protection device for PV generation equipment that we previously developed. We conducted a small-scale experiment using an actual system to test the operation of the newly developed protection device and verified that it was triggered during an arc. These assessments have focused on prevention of interpolar malfunctions, and not of homopolar arc faults.
