Abstract
We focus on the communication between the human and robot. In the case of interactive communication, the first step is an eye contact. Therefore, we constructed a robot, which has eyes that work as an active vision. The eyes are always controlled to see the communicating person by using stereo camera images. We compare our proposed method with other known methods. Our system is capable to detect and track the person effectively. We installed this system in our robot and evaluated the performance. We found that our robot was friendly and attractive
