Abstract :
This paper presents current interruption of direct current in a vacuum. In general, it is difficult to interrupt a direct current because there is no point current zero. From previous investigation, the authors have found that a current zero has been realized if capacitances and inductances are attached parallel to the arc. It is caused by the transient phenomena or the instability phenomena. Moreover, the amplitude of oscillating current has proportion with the voltage in the transient phenomena. The authors consider that the arc voltage is affected by magnetic field. This paper presents investigation results of the transient phenomena when the magnetic field is applied to vacuum arc.
