Fortescue´s transformation is a well-known matrix which can be used for fault analysis of perfectly transposed three-phase lines, but for un-transposed asymmetrical transmission lines, the parameter matrices of line such as impedance matrix and admittance matrix are no longer circulant matrices, It means that the Fortescue transformation matrix can not digitalization of the parameters. Nevertheless, the transformation matrix can still play an important role in contacting with the exact modal transformation. This paper introduces a correction method on the base of Fortescue´s transformation matrix, and the corrected transformation matrix is applied in the mode component method. The error of result shows that the corrected transformation matrix is feasible for the fault analysis of weak geometry unbalances transmission line and the method can make the calculation process simplify.
