Abstract :
Phenomenon of power swing in power system will cause inclusive shutdown or power failure within industry that also have been endured with massive economical losses. Power swing causes immense oscillations in active and reactive power, low voltage, voltage instability and phase or angular instability between the generated and consumed power. These issue leads to loss of generation and load which effected both the power generation and the end customers. IEEE 9-Bus System with Photovoltaic (PV) System connected to one of each busbar has been chosen. In order to obtain the power swing to the system, three phases to ground faults was injected. The study shows that there is decreasing signal variation on the active power swing that has been captured before and after the installation of PV system in the PSCAD simulation result. Further analyses on the variation of power swing before and after installation of PV are discussed in the end of this study.
