Abstract :
According to the quasi-static compression experiment and the creep experiment results, the paper honeycomb panel can be modeled as linear material with viscoelastic property whose relaxation kernel is expressed by a sum of exponentials. A parameter identification procedure is formulated which is based on the Prony method and the free response data of the single degree of freedom system. The stiffness coefficient, damping coefficient and the viscoelastic parameters under different static stress can be obtained using the free vibration response data of the honeycomb-mass system through the procedure. The parameters obtained here provide some basic data for the proper use of paper honeycomb panel in protective packaging design.
