Abstract
Advanced three-dimensional (3D) imaging technology, which is only touched and viewed in museums or special public exhibitions presently, mainly uses complicated optical design and manipulating technology to control images. This paper makes a research on 3D image display, simplifies its producing mode, and combines it with laser controlling technology to control and interact with image. After an integration of these techniques, a relevant 3D image application system is developed. In this paper, image display technology is applied into four kinds of products: 1. 3D image display system; 2. virtual fish tank; 3. laser interactive game system; 4. portable micro-projection display system. The imaging principle of 3D image is using Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) to place animated graphics of exhibition images, which are simulated and designed through mapping software, in special cavity configuration made from transparent glass or acrylic. By virtue of light refraction and reflection principles, image on LCD is presented through projection as three-dimensional image that can be seen from different angles. Moreover, the presented image is integrated with CCD/CMOS image capture and laser interactive control technology. Through systematic imaging, the image is projected onto screen or into special cavity configuration. The display of image can be controlled by laser, so image is controllable.
