Abstract
This paper presents a novel technique to design high-directivity parallel-coupled lines using the step impedance transmission lines (SITLs) terminated at coupled and through ports of the parallel coupler. Two configurations based on the technique, singly- and doubly-SITLs compensation, are proposed. The practicable feasibility of the technique is demonstrated at 0.9 GHz on RF60 substrate, where the directivities obtained from measured results are improved more than 6 dB and 30 dB as compared with uncompensated coupler.
