Abstract :
A highly efficient and compact continuous-wave (CW) 456 nm blue laser operation is demonstrated by using a diode end-pumped quasi-three-level Nd:GdVO4 emitting at 912 nm and using LBO as intra-cavity frequency doubling crystal. With the optimization of the operation conditions, the output power achieved 0.62 W at 456 nm and the optical-to-optical conversion efficiency (OCE) of 13.4 % at pump power 4.6 W.
