Abstract :
A novel microstrip antenna array consisting of four radiating elements has been proposed. A series feeding technique has been applied in order to minimize losses within the feeding network. A radiating element has been proposed in which strong coupling between input and output feeding lines can be achieved by adjusting the connection position of the output transmission line. A recently developed ´through-element´ coupled patches have been used to achieve proper excitations of the two center radiating elements. Both techniques have been combined to achieve proper amplitude distribution across a four-element antenna array. A 4 times 1 antenna array operating within 24 GHz frequency band has been designed. The measured results validate the proposed concept.
