Abstract :
A panel discussion on the future of expert systems is presented. First, Inference Corporation´s experiences in the areas of tools, methodologies and future research directions are described. Secondly, new areas and designs of applications beyond the first generation of expert systems are considered. A methodology combining traditional information systems technology and expert systems technology is then presented. Finally, the role of human elements in making expert system projects successful is discussed
