Abstract :
This paper presents a reduced order model for grid connected wind turbines with doubly fed induction generators. The model is based on the field oriented control of the generator, considering that the rotor is fed by an ideal current regulated voltage source. This assumption makes the order if the induction machine model to be reduced to three but still allows representing with good accuracy the main wind turbine control schemes used. A wind park composed of 10 turbines of 2MW connected to a real power system is simulated for comparing the responses of the complete and reduced order models.
