Abstract
A broadband coaxial impedance transforming diode mount performing as a video detector over the frequency range from 5 to 20 GHz is described. A principle feature of this design is its containment of a cost effective hermetically sealed cartridge for the semiconductor which is field replaceable without suffering performance degradation. State-of-the-art broadband video detector performance is achieved from the design.
