Abstract
Virtual reality technology has been developing rapidly recently. Studies have been conducted on various fundamental techniques and applications. We experimented on the delay of a feedback force. Haptic media are very sensitive to network delays, jitter, and packet loss. The analytic hierarchy process is one method used to evaluate physical phenomena as perceived by humans, and was used in the present experiment. The results revealed that haptic media could be estimated from the delay time. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the delay time and haptic sensation. The effectiveness of our method was confirmed by conducting experiments on participants.
