Abstract
This paper describes a vehicle network addressed to economy-model automobiles produced by the automotive industry of South America. The strategic approach adopted to achieve the low-cost feature is based on the use of a logical addressing technique that allows the use of physically identical units to control the nodes of the network. The resulting units do not require any sort of individual permanent setting and are based on a single custom chip
