Abstract :
Considering of the formation switching problem of multi-NPC in MMOG,this paper puts forward a formation control strategy of multi-NPC based on Artificial Potential and Tree Structure. According to the network game\´s characteristic ,we establishe moving model based on the artificial potential fiel; It uses the tree structure base on the leader - follower formation control method, and achieves multi-NPC\´ s formation switching through controlling NPC\´ s heading and speed with "distance-angle" motion control model. Experimental results show that this strategy enables NPCs to formation switching successfully, and it fulfills the real-time, realistic and challenging demand of the games.
