Abstract
Invisibility cloaks for generalized superellipse are proposed and investigated. Spatial coordinate transformation approach in polar coordinates form is applied to design the electromagnetic constitutive parameters. The required material properties, which do not involve discontinuities in the cloak shell, are derived in general form, and the cloaking performance is found relates to the properties of the shape to be cloaked. Fullwave finite element simulations are given to confirm the validity of the design, where the cloaking device is illuminated by plane waves and cylindrical waves, respectively. The proposed design provides a possible approach for cloaking many objects with reduced symmetry in shape.
