Abstract
By using a different kind of mapping function, we show theoretically that perfect cylindrical cloak of invisibility can be achieved with constant axial material parameters. The advantage of this kind of TE (or TM) cloak is that only two components of mu (or epsiv) are spatially variant, which makes it possible to realize with two-dimensional (2D) magnetic (or electric) metamaterial. The effects of perturbations, such as the loss of the metamaterial and the minor change of the parameters, on the performance of this cloak are quantitatively analyzed. Our work provides a feasible solution to the experimental realization of cloaks with ideal parameters.
