Abstract
The propagation of evanescent waves within one-dimensional photonic crystal (1DPC) containing two kinds of single-negative media are studied by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The evanescent waves within such 1DPC structure have two peculiar properties compared with propagation waves. The first is that the field is localized at the interface of MNG layer and ENG layer; the second is that the vibration of the evanescent waves are all in-phase. These results will help people to further understand the propagation behaviors of evanescent waves within the 1DPC.
