Abstract
The International Communication Committee at Los Alamos National Laboratory has been working to develop a set of guidelines for writing technical and scientific documents in International English, that is, English for those whose native language is not English. Guidelines have been applied to preparing English technical text for subsequent translation into Russian. It is shown how International English can profitably be used for preparing high-quality text intended for translation
