Abstract
Image quality assessment is a research field that becomes more and more important in the mobile devices market. In practice, estimation of the image quality has applications in several fields such as mobile printing, user assistance and memory management, to mention a few. In this paper we propose a novel practical approach for image quality assessment. More specifically, we introduce an iterative algorithm able to estimate the amount of blur from the input image. The proposed approach is well suited to be used in mobile implementations.
