  • Abstract
    In order to study influence of third order dispersion on 2D optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA). on the definition of the bit error rate (BER) of 2D OCDMA system in ideal condition and calculation formula are derived, expression of BER is given considering the third order dispersion effect. Using numerical simulation method, BER of 2D OCDMA system with the transmission distance relationship curves and the relation curves of users are obtained. The numerical results show that: the third order dispersion will seriously affect the 2D OCDMA system performance. In order to improve system performance, two possible solutions is given: dispersion compensation methods and the increase of the number of occupied wavelength.
