Abstract :
This paper presents the study on a linearly polarized, dual band reconfigurable microstrip antenna capable of reconfiguring the resonant frequency on the application of second probe feed to excite the radiator. The dual band antenna having bands centered at 3.5 GHz and 5.7 GHz shifts its frequency band to another dual band 9.85 GHz and 15.79 GHz which is exactly three times the primary radiation band on removing one of the feeding probe. The FDTD method is used to simulate the antenna, and the characteristics of this antenna are discussed.
