Abstract
A new topology that is highly suitable for a metropolitan area network is presented. The topology can be designed for any number of nodes in the network and is incremently expandable. It has a good node connectivity and a small diameter. The diameter of the topology in presence of node failure increases only by a small constant quantity. Algorithms for data routing both in the presence and absence of node failures in the network are presented
