Abstract
As a common predictive control method, the Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) algorithm has been widely studied and developed in the last two decades. It has been successfully applied in many chemical/petrochemical plants, where it has an excellent performance. For the control problem of the liquid level of the pre-fractionating tower in the catalyzing reforming plant in a refinery, this paper presents the system identification of the dynamic predictive model and the application of the DMC algorithm, besides the improvement of the algorithm to speed up the controller and make it more suitable for computer use.
