  • Abstract
    Aim at solving the problems of the inspection and maintenance of some special pipelines. Firstly, two kinds of contra-flow tetherless mechanical pipeline crawlers will be introduced which are invented by Weatherford Corporation and Durham University respectively. Secondly, based on the foreign research, A new design of the contra-flow tetherless crawler is put forward. Thirdly, the model of the crawler is built and then analyzed in the perspective of kinematics to check the feasibility of the design. Finally, summarize the advantages and potential applying prospects of the contra-flow crawler.
