On the Deployment of Routing Protocols in MANET with High Mobility

Deploying the routing protocols of Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) with high mobility is a major and challenging task for network researchers and designers. This paper outlines guidelines and a step-by-step methodology on how protocols can be deployed effectively. This methodology can be used to access the support and readiness of an existing network. As a case study, we apply the protocol on a typical network of a small wireless LAN. We utilize both analysis and simulation to investigate routing protocol performance issues and evaluation of delay as the network topology dynamically changes. Our analysis is based on prior knowledge of MANET protocols functionality, and OPNET is used for simulation. Results obtained from analysis and simulation are in line and give a close match.
