Abstract :
Characteristics of simultaneous photonic frequency upconversion utilizing four-wave mixing in a semiconductor optical amplifier were investigated. The power penalties for simultaneous frequency upconversion at the bit-error-rate of 10-9 were less than 1.1 dB.
