Abstract
In order to get more information on the underground reservoir medium, a new type of ultra-wideband logging antenna was proposed. This paper based on the analysis of traditional rectangular microstrip antenna, with the use of the stair-case-shape and two symmetric slits on the patch, utilizes a modified ground plane structure, design a new type of asymmetric bow-tie logging antenna. Antenna is simulated and optimization by HFSS software, the bandwidth of the antenna approximately 86% (VSWR <; 2.0), covering a frequency range of 500MHz~1.25GHz, have better omni-directional characteristics.
