Abstract :
The use of wireless communication is not omissible in the present era. Nowadays, in most wireless systems multiband Circular Polarized antennas play an epochal role. Some of the notable applications that exercise multiband Circular Polarization are Global Positioning System (GPS), Satellite Communication, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), WiMAX and HiperLan. Electromagnetic BandGap materials (EBG) are artificially engineered structures that improve the performance of the patch antennas. This article discusses the design of a dual band 3.65 GHz (802.11 y) and 5.8 GHz (802.11 a) antenna using U Slot; the corners are truncated for achieving CP in the Lower Band. Moreover, its performance is improved utilizing EBG structures.
