Abstract :
Reference filters for wave digital filters may include unit elements and gyro elements. In general, no closed-form solutions exist for the simultaneous Chebyshev approximation of the ideal response of zero loss in the passband and constant positive loss in the stopband. An exchange algorithm that leads to nearly optimal solutions by using a classical approximation method for generalized polynomials is described. Results obtained with the algorithm are presented
