Abstract :
An analysis of the effect of sensor positions and the number of sensors on source location estimates in urban environments is performed. The sensors are uniformly distributed on a circle around a building in which the source is to be localized. Location estimates are obtained via trilateration and multilateration. Source location errors, as a function of the number and positions of sensors, are derived under equal range errors assumption, and the asymptotic behavior of location errors is observed.
