Abstract
It is shown that the most practical RLC load can be optimally matched to a resistive generator over a finite frequency band by a Chebyshev ladder equalizer. The results are surprisingly simple. There is only the need to solve a cubic equation. The significance of these results is that the use of the Darlington type-C section for the lowpass equalizer and the Darlington type-E section for the bandpass equalizer is avoided, and the need of solving the nonlinear equations or using the design curves is circumvented, thereby reducing the design to simple arithmetic
