Data mining techniques in single-column indexes

Summary form only given. We present data mining techniques in single-column indexes. We give the definitions of data warehouses and data mining. This is followed by examining one-column indexes and autoadmin that will lead to good response time. Next, we focus on the design and implementation of a data mining prototype as the main activity. A data mining prototype will produce a set of guidelines for data warehouse administrators or decision makers to improve the response time of a query. Finally, the adoption of data mining techniques in a single-column has been shown to be useful and practical.
