Abstract
In this paper we analyze the saturated throughput of the IEEE802.11b DCF mode in a quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel. Considering the saturated throughput as a random variable we evaluate its cumulative distribution function (CDF). This function is obtained for an IEEE802.11b WLAN working on a slow Rayleigh fading environment. Based on the obtained results the effect of the system parameters on the saturated throughput is discussed.
