Abstract :
Multiple input multiple output technique has been documented as an attractive means to achieve high data rate transmissions. In this paper, we consider a MIMO-OFDM system and study the semi-blind channel estimation based pilot embedded (PE) technique. The PE technique superimposes the equi-spaced pilot on information-bearing signals. There is no loss in information rate. Employing the first order statistics, it enables a closed form semi-blind channel estimation algorithm to estimate multipath fading channels. A mean square-error (MSE) bound is derived to evaluate the proposed channel estimator. Computer simulation examples are presented to demonstrate MSE and overall system performances in the presence of unknown multipath fading channels.
