  • Abstract
    This paper surveys the swimming robot. At first, the paper introduces the current issues and challenges on micro robot and swimming robot. Then, it describes two different types of swimming robot respectively, including the snake-like swimming robot and the microorganism microrobot. As for each type of swimming robot, the corresponding propel mechanism, basic theory and current research are discussed in brief. Finally, the applications and potential technology of the swimming robots are addressed, and an insight into the micro swimming robot is provided.
